Set up Admin access

Create the initial Admin account so you can enter Bird's Eye and keep working immediately. The business Owner can create their own account later when they are present.

Add the Owner later: once signed in as Admin, open Admin → Add Portal Account and create the Owner account when they are ready to choose their own email and password.
Customer access is separate. Customers open only the secure estimate or invoice they were sent. They do not create accounts and cannot enter the Admin/Owner portal.

What gets protected

Full ZIP
Clients, properties, estimates, signatures, scheduled/future jobs, completed jobs, change orders, invoices, payments, job costs, operational history, estimate photos, and before/during/after job photos.
Data-Only
The same structured business data without image files. Useful as a fast secondary backup.
Security exclusions
Passwords, login sessions, API secrets, secure customer-link token hashes, and accounting OAuth secrets are deliberately excluded.

Save to an external drive

Desktop: choose the external drive as the browser download/save location, or move the downloaded ZIP to the drive afterward.

iPhone / iPad: download the ZIP to Files, connect the external drive, then use Files → Move/Copy to place the backup on the drive.
